B.E.E.S.
The Better English Expression Society(B.E.E.S.) continues to propagate the correct usage of the English language. Children are motivated through various activities like vocabulary building and book reading sessions. Chart making competitions are also held every year. The annual inter-school competition ‘BEE-Jewel’ is held annually and is a great success.
As in the previous years, BEES has been conducting Book Reading and Vocabulary building sessions in the Junior School.
BEES organised a movie show, Meg Ryan's "Courage Under Fire", for the students of classes 9-12 in the month of May. However, this was not without its share of technical snags.
To improve the standards and expression of English, a scrabble competition was conducted for the boarders of classes 6-11 on 9th July, 2011. It was a three tier competition in which the final round was played between the teams "Winners" and "Champions". Shubhangi's team was named Champions and Prachi's team was Winners. The Winners were proud to be the ultimate Chmapions. The winning team comprised of Prachi Jha, Ishita, Niruta, Shreya Prakash, Mahima, Mehr, Adrika, Apoorva, Aditi and Shivani.
BEES organised BEE –Jewel 2011, an inter college literary and cultural meet on Monday 24th October in the college premises. This one day event was attended by many distinguished colleges of the city namely La Martiniere College, St.Francis College, Jaipuria College, APS , St. Teresa’s, CMS, Loreto college, St. Agnes, Study Hall and the host school. The chief guest for the meet was Mrs. Madhu Mehrotra, the head of the department for English (Lucknow University) where as Mr. Anil k. Rastogi, Mr. Rahul Koorich and Ms. Sunita Aron made their presence felt as the judges. A number of competitions were held on this occasion which included Wordzilla – the crossword competition which was won by Loreto College, Mission Inkpossible – the essay/ story writing competition in which La Martiniere Girls College stood first in the junior level where as in the senior level St. Francis College emerged as winners. Braintrix – the quiz was won jointly by La Martiniere College and Study Hall. Best Poets Society, an elomime competition was won by the Girl’s College and My School Musical – the music competition was won by the Boy’s College. The overall winners were La Martiniere College. The sponsors for the event were Sahara India, Vibgyor, Book Tractor and the meet was conducted by Ms. Ishita Basu the BEES President along with the BEES prefects Suruchi Tripathi, Srishti Agarwal and Drishti Saraswat.It was an enriching experience wherein the various teams competed in an healthy environment. It was a fun filled day which turned out to be a huge success with a remarkable band performance by beat boxers Siddharta, Aman, Daniel and Joseph.
On 12th April an activity was organised by BEES for class 11-E and the winners were
Sanjana Tewari and Ayushi Tewari.
Activities with boarders:
On 21st April 2012, BEES organised a word formation activity for the boarders on the college campus.Studenst from class 6 to class 12 participated in the activity.
